Fire alarm systems are generally divided into two main categories: conventional (traditional) and addressable (intelligent) fire detection systems. In conventional fire detection systems, detectors and push buttons are divided into specific zones and each zone is connected to the control panel. When an alarm signal is received, the control panel can only determine which zone is alarming, but cannot locate a specific detector or button. Therefore, conventional systems are suitable for smaller and simpler buildings and have lower installation and maintenance costs. In addressable fire detection systems, each detector and button has a unique address. This ensures that in the event of an alarm, it can be precisely determined which detector or button is alarming. Addressable systems are generally suitable for larger and more complex structures. As each device has a unique address, they provide precise location information, which enables faster and more effective response. These systems also offer more advanced diagnostic and maintenance features, but installation and maintenance costs are generally higher. Fire detection systems can also be classified according to the detection methods used. For example, there are various detection technologies such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, flame detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Which system and detection technology to use depends on the size, complexity and fire safety requirements of the structure.
